The Fraunhofer Society is considered among the world’s elite applied research organizations employing 25,000 at 72 institutes across Germany. In May 2018, Fraunhofer USA hosted a two-day creativity and innovation workshop at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research.

The Wire Harness Project was open to faculty, staff, and students of the McNAIR Center, SC Innovates, and Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). Twenty two participants gather to brainstorm and analyze problems in Fraunhofer’s Wire Harness production process and propose solutions to solve issues.
